GRADUATE RECORD EXAMINATION (GRE)

The general test is offered as a computer based test in Kenya, U.S.A, Canada and many other countries. This test measures the skills that have been developed over
a long period of time and are not particularly related to any field of study. The test is composed of analytic writing(AW), verbal(V) and quantitative(Q) sections.

 

Typical testing time is listed below:

AW – 75 mins section writing tasks;
– Present your perspective on an issue; 45 mins
– Analyze an argument – 30mins
V – 30 mins section – 30 questions
Q – 24 mins section – 28 questions

In addition an unidentified V or Q question that does not count towards a score maybe included. Be sure to do both V and Q section since you will not know which one will be counted towards your score.

An unidentified research question that is not scored may also be included in the computer – based general test. When you register for the general test you will receive free preparation material that will describe the test in more detail and provide information to help you understand the scores you earn.
